All
color slides were scanned with a Nikon
CoolScan V ED and converted digitally using Nikon's
Digital ICE-4 Advanced(TM)
scanning software. The resulting scans are roughly 5400 x 3600 pixels in
size and weigh in at a hefty 30+MB. Color prints from the original scans come out very
sharp and photo enlargements of up to 20 x 30 inches can be made if
required.

Although
this equipment and the software used for scanning the slides is considered
high end I can't work miracles and I'm not a professional by any stretch
of the word. Some of the slides were under/over exposed, physically
damaged, deteriorated, or just a bad shot (sorry dad)! I did the best I
could with what I had and adjusted the scanning process to get the most
out of the questionable slides.

For
this website all photos have been heavily reduced in overall size and
quality to conserve bandwidth and speed up page loads. This is great for
web viewing, but you really don't want to save the pictures displayed here
and use them for reproductions at the local Wal-Mart. If you see a
picture, or a series of pictures you'd like to have high resolution copies
of please contact me with the year, series name, and image number (Ex.
1971 / New Baby Anne / Image01). I'll be more than happy to burn high
resolution images to a CD or DVD and mail it to you.

Feel
free to "Right-Click" and "Save-As"
any pictures you find here to your local hard drive, but
please DO NOT link to
any of the photos. There are over 5000+ pictures contained within the archive and linking to the photos will cause an excessive amount of
bandwidth usage resulting in additional hosting fees to be incurred.
